Um kurz nach 8 Uhr morgens klopfte es an meiner Zimmert\u00fcr. Esava war gekommen um mich abzuholen und zu seinem zu Hause zu bringen. Es war ein gro\u00dfes Festessen zu meinen Ehren geplant \u2013 noch eine Abschiedsparty \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

Wir besorgten Kartoffeln, H\u00e4hnchen und nat\u00fcrlich Kava und stiegen dann in ein Taxi. Zehn Minuten sp\u00e4ter waren wir in dem Dorf namens Tavakubu angekommen, wo Esava in einem riesigen Haus wohnt. Und das nat\u00fcrlich nicht alleine. Mit ihm bewohnen noch ungef\u00e4hr 10 andere fidschianische Boys das auf Holzpfl\u00f6cken stehende Geb\u00e4ude. Auch Boris und Kiri haben dort zurzeit ein zu Hause gefunden.<\/p>\n

In der kleinen K\u00fcchenh\u00fctte vor dem Haus waren jede Menge Leute bereits damit besch\u00e4ftigt, das Essen vorzubereiten. Neben den zwei H\u00fchnchen die ich mitgebracht hatte, war auch ein riesiger Schweinskopf f\u00fcr das Festessen besorgt worden. Als besondere Ehre sollte ich die Nase, die Ohren und die Augen zu essen bekommen. Ich lachte und lehnte dankend ab. Ein wenig weiter hinter dem Haus flackerte auch schon das Feuerchen f\u00fcr den Lovo. Die Jungs hier benutzen zwar das gleiche Prinzip das man auch auf den Inseln verwendet, aber das Feuer wird nicht in einem Loch sondern \u00fcber der Erde gemacht. Der Rest bleibt gleich. Das Essen wird auf die Glut und die vom Feuer aufgeheizten Steine gelegt und anschlie\u00dfend mit Bananenbl\u00e4ttern, Planen und Erde bedeckt.<\/p>\n

W\u00e4hrend das Essen kochte wurde das von mir mitgebrachte Kava Pulver in einer h\u00fcbschen gro\u00dfen Holzsch\u00fcssel zubereitet. Dann hie\u00df es wie immer \u201eTaki!\u201c, was so viel bedeutet wie es ist Zeit zum Kava trinken. Und das ist es in Fidschi immer, egal zu welcher Tages- oder Nachtzeit. Heute bekam ich auch die Ehre und wurde zum Chief der Kava Zeremonie erkl\u00e4rt. Das bedeutet im wesentlich nur, dass ich immer der erste in der Runde bin der Kava zu trinken bekommt. Au\u00dferdem sagte jeder der danach eine Schale bekam laut Bula und ich antwortete ebenfalls mit einem Bula. Der Chief hat noch weitere Rechte, wie zum Beispiel w\u00e4hrend dem trinken eine Sonnenbrille oder einen Hut zu tragen, was den anderen nicht erlaubt ist.<\/p>\n

Einige Stunden sp\u00e4ter holten die Jungs das Essen aus dem Lovo und machten noch den letzten Schliff, ehe es sch\u00f6n garniert auf dem einzigen Tisch im Haus aufgestellt wurde. Was man im echten Fidschi selten finden wird, sind Tische, St\u00fchle und Besteck. Die Menschen sind es gewohnt am Boden zu sitzen und mit den Fingern zu essen. Die ersten paar Tage tut einem der Hintern weh, aber mit der Zeit gew\u00f6hnt man sich an alles. Nur wie man Reis oder Nudeln ohne eine Gabel isst, habe ich immer noch nicht ganz raus.<\/p>\n

W\u00e4hrend wir Europ\u00e4er gegessen haben, sahen es die Fidschianer als ihre Pflicht an, zuerst den restlichen Kava zu vernichten. Das Essen war sensationell, wie ich finde sogar noch ein St\u00fcckchen besser als auf der Insel. Unglaublich saftiges H\u00fchnchen, mit Fleisch und Gem\u00fcse gef\u00fcllte Bananenbl\u00e4tter und jede Menge andere K\u00f6stlichkeiten. Nachdem ich vollgefressen war, bekam ich auch nochmal ein paar Sch\u00e4lchen zu trinken und dann passierte etwas, von dem ich nicht gedacht h\u00e4tte dass es m\u00f6glich w\u00e4re. W\u00e4hrend die Jungs sich unterhielten, alte Fidschi Legenden erz\u00e4hlten und endlich auch anfingen zu essen, fielen mir die Augen zu. Mein voller Bauch, die Hitze im Haus und der viele Kava hatten mich unglaublich m\u00fcde gemacht. Nun lag ich also da, zwischen all den Leuten am Boden rum und schnarchte. Und das mit OFFENEN AUGEN! Ich h\u00e4tte es nicht geglaubt, wenn Kiri nicht ein Video davon gemacht h\u00e4tte.<\/p>\n

Als es bereits dunkel wurde verabschiedete ich mich von den vielen Leuten und verbrachte meine letzte Nacht im Cathay Hotel in Lautoka.<\/p>\n
