Aus unserem Garten habe ich euch zuletzt <a href=\"https:\/\/www.simons-world.at\/rtw\/neues-aus-dem-garten-es-blueht-und-gruent-in-der-trockenzeit\/\">w\u00e4hrend der Trockenzeit<\/a> berichtet. Damals haben wir gerade unser neues Sprinklersystem in Betrieb genommen. Jetzt im Moment haben wir daf\u00fcr allerdings so gar keinen Bedarf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Es regnet beinahe jeden Tag f\u00fcr mehrere Stunden, Gro\u00dfteils am Nachmittag bzw. Abend. Nun ist es knapp vor 17 Uhr, ich sitze gerade in meinem B\u00fcro und tippe. Drau\u00dfen vor dem Fenster ein Schauspiel. Oder besser gesagt Wasserspiel. Es ist stockd\u00fcster, der komplette Himmel gef\u00fcllt mit dunkelschwarzen Gewitterwolken. Die uns umgebenden Bergketten sind unsichtbar, verh\u00fcllt von einer dicken Schicht Nebel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Es blitzt und donnert wie verr\u00fcckt. Die Blitzeinschl\u00e4ge kommen immer n\u00e4her. Das ganze Geb\u00e4ude samt meinem Schreibtisch vibrieren bei jedem Donner. Bobby verkriecht sich unterm Tisch. Kein Wunder, der Schalldruck l\u00e4sst selbst die PA-Anlage eines Heavy Metal Konzerts wie Spielzeug aussehen. Unbeschreibliche Wassermassen ergie\u00dfen sich \u00fcber uns. Die Dachrinnen laufen \u00fcber, unsere Gehwege stehen kn\u00f6cheltief unter Wasser. Das Rinnsal im Wassergraben beim Lagerhaus hat sich in einen rei\u00dfenden Bach verwandelt. Es sind apokalyptische Szenen in Santa Fe, doch es geh\u00f6rt hier genauso dazu wie blauer Himmel und Sonnenschein. Wohlgemerkt zeigt das Thermometer trotz Gewittersturm angenehme 24\u00b0C. Und w\u00e4hrend uns der angelegte Gartenbereich rund um die Hostelgeb\u00e4ude in der Trockenzeit kaum noch Arbeit beschert hat, sieht das so nat\u00fcrlich ganz anders aus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An allen Ecken und Enden w\u00e4chst es wie verr\u00fcckt. Und wie \u00fcblich nicht nur das, was man gerne haben m\u00f6chte. Um den Dschungel zu b\u00e4ndigen, sind wir seit Ende Mai wieder regelm\u00e4\u00dfig im Einsatz. Dabei beschr\u00e4nken wir uns meistens auf das Umfeld der Hostel Geb\u00e4ude. Etwa alle zwei Wochen gehe ich mit der Motorsense durch den Garten und schneide den Rasen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Doch das reicht noch lange nicht aus. Unsere zahlreichen Bananenstauden m\u00fcssen regelm\u00e4\u00dfig gepflegt werden, damit sie auch sch\u00f6n h\u00fcbsch aussehen. Das ist schlie\u00dflich der prim\u00e4re Zweck des Gartenbereichs rund um das Hostel. H\u00fcbsch auszusehen. Obendrein m\u00fcssen dutzende B\u00fcsche regelm\u00e4\u00dfig zur\u00fcckgeschnitten werden, wobei wir schon seit l\u00e4ngerem daran arbeiten, diese durch dekorativere Pflanzen zu ersetzen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ihr erinnert euch vielleicht an die <a href=\"https:\/\/www.simons-world.at\/rtw\/neues-aus-dem-garten-von-ananas-bis-zitrone\/\">unz\u00e4hligen Stecklinge<\/a>, die ich vor etwa einem Jahr in der G\u00e4rtnerei angesetzt habe. Unterschiedliche Blumen und vor allem eine bestimmte Sorte von B\u00fcschen, die verschiedenfarbige Bl\u00e4tter hervorbringen, standen damals im Fokus. Nat\u00fcrlich sind deren Bl\u00e4tter nicht so leuchtend bunt wie Blumen, doch bringen sie nette Farbakzente in den Garten. F\u00fcr das tropische Flair sorgen neben den Stachelpalmen auch eine Reihe anderer Palmenarten, die wir teilweise geschenkt bekommen oder selber gezogen haben.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nicht zu vergessen nat\u00fcrlich auch unsere ersten Ananaspflanzen. Oder besser gesagt die wenigen, die heute noch am Leben sind. Die Ananas hat sich bisher als eine der empfindlichsten Pflanzen herausgestellt. W\u00e4hrend man sie aus einem Blattschopf kinderleicht selber ziehen kann, ist die Pflanze sehr empfindlich und stellt relativ gro\u00dfe Anspr\u00fcche an ihren Standort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure Unsere diversen Haustiere finden den Geruch wohl toll, weshalb immer mal wieder eine ausgebuddelt oder zerpfl\u00fcckt wurde. Die Ananas vertr\u00e4gt selbst kurze Perioden mit Staun\u00e4sse nur sehr schlecht. Einen Tag im Wasser stehen ist genug und die komplette Pflanze stirbt ab und verfault. Was dann monate- oder sogar jahrelang pr\u00e4chtig gewachsen ist, geht binnen k\u00fcrzester Zeit ein. Die Unmengen Wasser die momentan vom Himmel prasseln, sind da nat\u00fcrlich problematisch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Einen ersten kleinen Erfolg konnten wir trotzdem verbuchen. Oder besser gesagt zwei. So viele Ananas Fr\u00fcchte haben wir n\u00e4mlich bisher geerntet. Die Pflanze bl\u00fcht nur einmal und tr\u00e4gt auch nur eine einzige Frucht. Vom Einpflanzen bis zur Ernte vergehen hier in Panama rund 14-16 Monate. Eine lange Zeit, in der viel passieren kann.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die relativ kleinen Fr\u00fcchte die wir ernten konnten, schmeckten daf\u00fcr umso s\u00fc\u00dfer. Wer hat denn jemals frisch geerntete Ananas gegessen? Aus dem eigenen Garten? Ja, es war ein ganz besonderes Privileg, diese Fr\u00fcchte zu verspeisen. Zumal die bisherige Gartenanlage ja \u00fcberhaupt nicht dazu gedacht ist, irgendwie effizient Lebensmittel zu produzieren. Neben vereinzelten Zitrusb\u00e4umen w\u00e4chst dar\u00fcber hinaus allerdings noch nicht viel Essbares auf der Finca. Wenn dann n\u00e4chstes Jahr unsere H\u00e4user so halbwegs bewohnbar sind, starten wir mit dem ersten 60m\u00b2 Gew\u00e4chshaus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die Pl\u00e4ne sind bereits weitgehend fertig, nur an der Umsetzung fehlt es noch. Ich freue mich schon drauf, am liebsten w\u00fcrde ich heute noch anfangen. Doch eines nach dem anderen.
