H\u00f6chste Zeit euch auch hier auf den neusten Stand zu bringen. Passiert bzw. gewachsen ist so einiges, doch auch technische Einrichtungen waren n\u00f6tig, um unser gr\u00fcnes Paradies halbwegs gr\u00fcn \u00fcber die Trockenzeit zu bringen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Doch beginnen wir von vorne, in diesem Fall\nEnde letzten Jahres. Mit dem vielen Regen ging es dem Garten nat\u00fcrlich pr\u00e4chtig\nund an allen Ecken und Enden wuchs es wie verr\u00fcckt. Ganz vorne mit dabei unsere\nBananenstauden, die uns mittlerweile schon zu einem guten Teil ern\u00e4hren. Eine\ngro\u00dfe Staude kann schon mal mehr als 100 Bananen tragen, welche in mehreren\nReihen angeordnet der Sonne entgegenwachsen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die Kochbananen sind frittiert sehr lecker,\nje nach Schneid- und Brattechnik kann man daraus Chips, Pommes oder auch\nKroketten-\u00e4hnliche Speisen zubereiten. Als Beilage sind pro Person 2-3 Bananen\nausreichend, womit wir an einer einzigen Staude unter Umst\u00e4nden l\u00e4nger als eine\nWoche zu essen haben. Die beiden Exemplare sind derzeit unsere gr\u00f6\u00dften und ragen locker schon 5 Meter in die H\u00f6he. Gewachsen sind sie dort mehr oder weniger zuf\u00e4llig, denn meine ersten Versuche die Pflanzen selber zu ziehen, waren nicht von Erfolg gekr\u00f6nt. So haben wir sie wohl einem Vogel zu verdanken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die Sorte ist allerdings \u201enat\u00fcrlich\u201c, was\nin diesem Fall besonders viele aber auch besonders kleine Fr\u00fcchte bedeutet.\nSchmecken tun sie lecker, doch ich konnte es nicht lassen und startete noch\neinen Versuch mit Kernen einer gekauften Frucht. Fr\u00fcher haben wir zum Keimen\nvon Samen immer Eierkartons verwendet, welche bei dem Klima hier allerdings zu\nwenig Erde aufnehmen k\u00f6nnen und deshalb viel zu schnell austrocknen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mit einem etwas gr\u00f6\u00dferen Beh\u00e4lter funktionierte\ndas schon viel besser und wenige Tage nach dem Einsetzen keimten auch schon\ndutzende der Kerne. Ein\nGro\u00dfteil davon hat sich pr\u00e4chtig entwickelt und bringt momentan richtig Farbe\nin die G\u00e4rtnerei. In den Garten hingegen haben es bisher nur recht wenige\ngeschafft, da sie wie jede Jungpflanze in der Anfangszeit erh\u00f6hte\nAufmerksamkeit ben\u00f6tigen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Und damit nat\u00fcrlich in erster Linie Wasser.\nWas in der Regenzeit sogar manchmal zum Problem wird, ist zwischen Dezember und\nApril allerdings kaum vorhanden. So haben wir uns derzeit auf das Umfeld der\nHostelgeb\u00e4ude beschr\u00e4nkt, wo wir aufgrund der vielen anderen Pflanzen sowieso\nregelm\u00e4\u00dfig gie\u00dfen m\u00fcssen und auch die entsprechende Infrastruktur vorhanden\nist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Doch auch dort wurde der Aufwand immer\ngr\u00f6\u00dfer und anstatt nun drei oder vier Monate lang jeden Tag eine Stunde mit\ngie\u00dfen zu verbringen, t\u00fcftelte ich an einer anderen L\u00f6sung. Wasser haben wir ja\nausreichend, es geht nur um die richtige Verteilung. Da wir aber zwischen den\nHostelgeb\u00e4uden und den Gehwegen viele kleine unregelm\u00e4\u00dfig geformte Gartenbereiche\nhaben, war das Thema nicht einfach mit ein paar gro\u00dfen Sprinklern erledigt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Um bei den starken Winden in der\nTrockenzeit nicht die Geb\u00e4ude einzuw\u00e4ssern und das Wasser nur wirklich dort zu\nhaben wo wir es auch brauchen, musste ich ein Leitungssystem mit vielen kleinen\nSprinklern aufbauen. Angebunden an unsere Wasserpumpe bei den Badezimmern, hat das System\neine maximale Kapazit\u00e4t von 50 Litern die Minute, was in diesem Fall knapp f\u00fcr 10\nSprinkler ausreichend ist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anstatt nun jeden Tag eine Stunde lang mit\ndem Schlauch durch den Garten zu rennen, reicht ein Dreh an einem einzigen\nVentil, um die Sprinkler anzuwerfen. Mit dem Schlauch muss jetzt nur noch\npunktuell gegossen werden, was den t\u00e4glichen Zeitaufwand auf 10-15 Minuten\nreduziert. Sehr gut! So l\u00e4uft nun jeden Abend ungef\u00e4hr ein Kubikmeter Wasser\ndurch die Leitungen, wor\u00fcber sich die Pflanzen mit ihren gr\u00fcnen Bl\u00e4ttern,\nbunten Bl\u00fcten und zahlreichen Fr\u00fcchten sichtlich freuen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Da wir Wasser von unserem eigenen Brunnen\nverwenden und durch unsere eigene Kl\u00e4ranlage nat\u00fcrlich auch keine\nAbwassergeb\u00fchren zu bezahlen haben, belaufen sich die Kosten f\u00fcr einen Kubikmeter\nauf gerade einmal 5-6 Cent. Da macht das Gie\u00dfen doch Spa\u00df! Zumindest im\nunmittelbaren Umfeld der Hostelgeb\u00e4ude, wo momentan auch der einzige Bereich\nist, in dem wir in der Trockenzeit neue Pflanzen einsetzen k\u00f6nnen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nach \u00fcber einem Jahr recherchieren und\nsuchen konnte ich k\u00fcrzlich auch die ersten S\u00e4ckchen passender Grassamen f\u00fcr\nunsere Finca bekommen. Das sogenannte Bermuda Gras ist schnellwachsend und sehr\nwiderstandsf\u00e4hig, weshalb es auch gerne f\u00fcr Sport- und Golfpl\u00e4tze verwendet\nwird. Momentan laufen die ersten Tests, gro\u00dffl\u00e4chig auss\u00e4hen werden\nwir es aber wohl erst zu Beginn der Regenzeit. Es hei\u00dft ein einziger Samen kann\nbinnen weniger Monate einen ganzen Quadratmeter bedecken. Interessant ist es\nf\u00fcr uns auch deswegen, weil wir einen gro\u00dfen Teil der vorhandenen Gr\u00e4ser auf\nder Finca ersetzen wollen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sie wachsen einfach zu hoch und zu dicht, selbst mit der 50ccm Rasensense ist da kein Durchkommen mehr. In der Trockenzeit sterben sie dann ab und hinterlassen gro\u00dfe Heuberge, die weder n\u00fctzlich noch sch\u00f6n anzusehen sind. Ihr seht schon, auch im Garten wird uns die Arbeit noch lange nicht ausgehen.
